Baby Bonner #2

So I had an ultrasound two weeks ago but forgot to put the pictures on here. Anyway, we were surprised how much of our little bean we could see. We had an ultrasound at 8 weeks with Kayleigh, and we were actually worried because she looked like a fish. She definitely did not resemble a person. This time I was 12 1/2 weeks, and we could see the baby's whole face and body. We got to watch for about 45 minutes! It was so fun to see him/her wiggle around. The sonographer put it in 4d to try to tell us the sex, but no such luck! We can't wait to see him/her again in a few weeks. Hopefully then we'll get the big news! We can't wait. Neither one of us are big on surprises, so we are dying to know. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Someday...

So I took this quiz which tells you your decorating style. It was dead on for me.

I am 50% Nantucket Style and 50% Cottage Chic.
Unfortunately, my home doesn't quite reflect this because A. I live in military housing. B. My husband is just as opinionated as I am. C. I actually have a budget which does not include designer home decor. :)

Sigh. One day I will have my beach house. Until then I can dream. :)

Zzzzzz's

I just want to brag that I have the best baby ever. How could anyone even know that? Ok...well then I think my kid is pretty awesome. She is the best little sleeper and when Mommy's sick, that's crucial. Naps and bedtime consist of putting in the paci and laying her down. Oh thank goodness! Now everyone has told me...oh wait until #2 comes. Well, I'm just going to be thankful #1 is so great and pray that #2 follows suit. If #2 is anything like his/her mommy and daddy, then they are going to love to sleep too. Now Brett isn't so big on naptimes, but don't let that fool you. He loves his sleep and is totally jealous that I can sleep anytime day or night.

Speaking of sick, I HATE colds! I especially, whole-heartedly hate colds when I am pregnant! Colds without cold medicine is torture. Unfortunately, Brett passed this cold not only to me but to Kayleigh as well, who also cannot take cold medicines. She's been a trooper though. Well, except when I have to use the sucker on her nose. She hates that thing. Who can blame her? Anyway, being sick makes me especially thankful for my awesome kid.

Congrats!!

So Valentine's Day our good friend Brian Duffy got married! Brett and I are so happy for Duffy and Krystyna and wish them many happy years together! Also, I found out my KD big sister Christanne got engaged! Charley proposed a little before Valentine's day in Vail, but they finally got to share the news on Valentine's after telling their family in person. We are so excited for them and can't wait to hear all about the plans for the big day! So I call Brett to tell him all the exciting news and I say "Can you believe it all it one day?" He says, "Jenna, it IS Valentine's Day!" :) I totally forgot. I even called a few friends and totally forgot it was Valentine's. I'm sure they were probably out celebrating with their own Valentine. Mine was at work, hence my total disregard for the day. :)

We did get to celebrate on Monday though. Kayleigh and I made cards for Brett, and we took him to Joe's Taco Lounge. Dad saw a Rachael Ray episode where she said Joe's was a great place to eat, so we tried it. It was pretty good, but we both agreed Mama Kwan's in Nag's Head is still the best! For dinner, I made him one of his favorites, Shrimp Bisque. He was in heaven. Brett got Kayleigh a balloon and me some candy. I love candy...unfortunately! :)

Anyway, whenever or however you celebrated, I hope you enjoyed your Valentine's Day!!

And congrats again to Duffy & Krystyna and Christanne & Charley! We couldn't be happier for y'all!!

Things to Ponder

First, Brett and I watched the Grammy's last night. I don't normally watch because I really coudl care less, but Brett likes to watch, so we watched. (Again proof who really wears the pants.) If you watched, did you think MIA's performance was disturbing? I mean first the fact that she was due that very day is a little disturbing. Can you imagine if her water broke mid-performance. Gross and probably hazardous to others on stage! Can you imagine slipping in that stuff? Ewww. And even worse was that really disturbing outfit they had her in. I can't imagine how everyone who had anything to do with deciding what she would wear thought that outfit was a good choice. Being pregnant was a beautiful thing (well, maybe not those last few weeks when you are swollen and miserable ), but that outfit was horrible and well...disturbing.

Secondly, why is it that doctor's offices close for a 2 hour lunch break? Seriously, do they not understand they are already impossible to get ahold of and people don't have all day trying to get in touch with the office just to make an appointment. Can you imagine if the rest of the world got 2 hour lunches? Granted, I'm sure they don't actually get a 2 hour lunch break, but come on...turn on the phones so I can actually get through to make an appointment.

And lastly, why does teething take so long? It seriously seems like it is neverending and we are only on the first two, which came in together (lucky us!) We have to go through how many more? Why can't they just come in in a day or overnight while they peacefully sleep? That would be even better. That would be much easier to deal with instead of taking a month or more! God, please consider my request and have all of Kayleigh's remaining teeth come in overnight while she peacefully sleeps. Thanks!

So if you have any things that just don't make sense, feel free to add to my list. I mean why can't everything just be logical? Life would make much more sense that way. :)

Surfman Bonner

First of all, can you believe Brett posted something?!? You can tell he's much more straightforward and to the point than I am. I'm a bit of a rambler. I get it honest though. My G.G. is the queen of rabbit trails. :) By the way, Fireproof was an awesome movie. If you haven't seen it, you should!

Anyway, Station Golden Gate has a website and Brett made the news! :) Check it out!

Hope everyone is doing well!

If you are a man, you've watched Fireproof

Life changing...even for big boys like me. Jenna and I watched this movie tonight, and it put me in my place. If you are having any trouble in your marriage or even if you think everything is fine, try it. It will do you good. Nothing to lose.
